Our Story · Since 1998

Who We Are

CDROME Education Society is a registered NGO operating under the Pansi Group, headquartered at Pansi House, Kalyan, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Founded in 1998 by Vijay Manohar Vasekar with an initial investment of just ₹1.5 lakh and an unshakeable belief in the power of vocational education.

We are the first NGO selected under the Prime Minister's Special Project for Free Computer Education in North East and Tribal Areas of India. We secure government grants — from the PMO, ONGC-CSR, JNPA-CSR, and state skill missions — and deploy every rupee to deliver free, practical, NSQF-aligned training.

Over 25 years, CDROME has grown from a single computer lab to a pan-India network operating across 14 Indian states, with 88+ vocational programs across 8 industry sectors, and a reach that has transformed more than 55,000 lives.

We envision India where skill is a fundamental right, not a privilege: where the son of a daily wage labourer and the daughter of a marginalised farmer both have equal access to the tools of economic independence.

To secure government and CSR grants and deliver completely free, NSQF-aligned, practical vocational skill training to India's most economically vulnerable communities — creating pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.

We commit that 100% of every rupee raised goes directly to the learner — never to administration — because trust is the foundation of everything we do.

About the Founder

Vijay Manohar Vasekar

Vijay Manohar Vasekar started CDROME Education Society in 1998 with ₹1.5 lakh and a firm belief that every Indian — regardless of background — deserves the dignity of a skill and the freedom that comes with earning their own income.

Under his leadership, CDROME became the first NGO selected for the Prime Minister's Special Project for Free Computer Education in North East and Tribal India. He has built relationships with the PMO, ONGC, JNPA, American India Foundation, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, and 40+ international country partners.
